All of coastal Louisiana still struggles to recover much like New Orleans. It was such a pleasure for me to see so many smart, energetic people helping to save a piece of my home. I'm also very happy to see that so many of you learned the importance of our coastal wetlands to the rest of the state. Don't forget that you're not just helping to protect New Orleans, but also the economy of the rest of the country because of Louisiana's vast petroleum network and the national importance of our fisheries.
I hope you all continue to share your stories here and when you get home so that you can come visit a healthier, more sustainable coastal Louisiana years from now. That can only happen with an entire nation on our side.
A partnership between Riverside Brookfield High School and Brookfield Zoo, SEE Team, as we call it, is a fun and unique 'school within a school.' Students achieve academic credit and meet state standards in Algebra, Biology, English and Physical Education while focusing on local environmental issues and environmental literacy.
With Brookfield Zoo next door students have exclusive access to the zoo and its resources. Together Brookfield Zoo and RBHS strive to create conservation leaders.
